Creating and editing menus

How can I create a menu?

You can create a menu by going to the Menus page and selecting the Create menu button. Learn more.

How can I import a menu?

To import a menu, go to the Menus page, select the Create menu button, and choose the Import from channel or Import from POS options. Importing menus is not possible from all delivery channels or POS. Learn more.

How can I delete a menu?

First, ensure the menu is not currently being used by any of the channels. Then, go to the Menus page and select the icon for the menu. Select the Archive menu option. Once archived, go to the Archived tab, select the icon for the menu, and select Delete menu. Learn more.

How can I unpublish a menu?

You can't unpublish a menu on a delivery channel. Once activated, your channels always require at least one active menu. However, you can publish a new menu to the channel to replace the existing one.

How can I preview a menu?

To preview a menu, go to the Menus page, select the icon for that menu, and choose Preview. Use the filters at the top of the page to view the menu for a specific location, channel, or language. Learn more.

How can I view menu publish history?

Go to the Operation reports page. Select the Operation type filter and choose Menu publish. Learn more.

How can I duplicate a menu?

First, go to the Menus page and select the icon for the menu. Next, select the Duplicate menu option. You are asked to confirm. The new menu will have "- Copy" added to the end of the name. Learn more.

How can I translate a menu?

Go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu you want to translate. You can translate items by selecting the button. Select the Edit translations button at the top of the page to translate the menu's name and description. Learn more.

How can I change the availability of a menu?

Navigate to the Menus page and select the button for the menu. Choose the Manage availability option. You can add new menu availabilities or edit existing ones. Learn more.

Where can I view menu history?

To learn when a menu was changed, go to your Menus page and select the button for the menu. Select menu history. You can expand a change to view the full details of what was modified.

How can I add or change the logo image of a menu?

Go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. At the top of the page, you can add, change, or delete the logo image. As with any menu change, you need to publish the menu to your delivery channels for the new logo image to be visible to your customers.

How can I add or change the banner image for a menu?

Navigate to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. The banner image can be changed, edited, or deleted at the top of the page. After making the change, select the Save button. As with any menu change, you need to publish the menu to your delivery channels for the new banner image to be visible to your customers. Do note that not all delivery channels support setting a banner image from Deliverect.

How can I change the image for an item or product in a menu?

To change an item's image, go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Next, select the item and then select the current image to replace it. Don't forget to select the Save button afterward. As with any menu change, you need to publish the menu to your delivery channels for the item's image to be visible to your customers.

How can I change a menu's name?

Go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Change the text in the Menu name field and select the Save button. As with any menu change, you need to publish the menu to your delivery channels for the new name to be visible to your customers.

How can I change a menu's type?

To change a menu's type, go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Select the Type dropdown and choose the new type. The options are Curbside pickup, Delivery, Delivery and pickup, Eat in, and Pickup. Select the Save button after making the change.

How can I change a menu's description?

Go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Change the text in the Menu description field and select the Save button. As with any menu change, you need to publish the menu to your delivery channels for the new description to be visible to your customers.

How can I change the internal name of a menu?

Go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Find the Internal menu name field and enter a new name. The internal name is only visible to other users in your Deliverect account. Select the Save button to confirm your changes.

How can I add a product or item to a menu?

If you use a POS, first sync your products.

Go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Find the category you want to add the item to and select the + Add menu items button. Select one or multiple items, followed by the Add products button. You can make changes to the item by selecting the button. Publish the menu to your delivery channels so that customers can order the item. Learn more.

How can I add a category to a menu?

Go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Select + Add category and enter a name and, if desired, a description. You can also upload an image for the category. Select the Add category button at the bottom to create it. You can then start adding images to the category. Don't forget to publish your menu to your delivery channels to make the changes visible to your customers.

How can I update prices?

How can I fine-tune or customize a menu?

You can adjust the details and pricing of items for specific channels, locations, or order types by using the Customization feature inside the menu editor. Learn more.

How can I sort categories in a menu?

Open the menu in the editor by going to the Menus page and selecting the Edit button. Drag and drop the categories in the sidebar until they are in your desired order. The new sorting is only shown to customers after you publish your menu to your delivery channels.

How can I export a menu?

Go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Select the button at the top of the page and choose Export. A CSV file will be downloaded to your device that you can use in spreadsheet applications. Learn more.

How can I reset menu products in a menu?

If you need to remove any manual changes to a menu, go to the Menus page and select the Edit button for the menu. Select the button at the top of the page and choose Reset menu products. Confirm by entering RESET MENU PRODUCTS and select the Reset product changes button. This action can not be reverted. Learn more.

Publishing menus

How can I publish a menu?

Go to the Menus page and select the Publish menus button. Choose the menu(s) to publish and the delivery channels to use. Select the Publish menus button. Depending on the delivery channel, it may take some time for the menu to be available on your delivery channels. You can view the status by going to the Operation reports page, selecting the Operation type filter, and choosing Menu publish. Learn more.

What is needed to publish a menu?

Your delivery channel has to be successfully configured before you can publish a menu to it. Some delivery channels also require that menus meet their requirements. If a menu isn't publishing, you can find the cause by going to the Operation reports page, selecting the Operation type filter, and choosing Menu publish. Our support team can assist you if you need help.

How can I publish all active menus?

A published menu to a delivery channel is considered "active". You can republish active menus by going to the Menus page and selecting the Publish menus button. Choose the Publish all active menus button at the bottom of the window. The confirmation window shows you the menus and the delivery channels. Select Confirm to proceed. Learn more.

How can I view the status of a menu publish?

Go to the Operation reports page, select the Operation type filter, and choose Menu publish. If an error is shown, expand the operation by selecting it. Contact our support team if you are unable to resolve the error yourself.

How can I resolve a failed menu publish?

A menu may fail to publish for many reasons. Luckily you can find out the reason by going to the Operation reports page, selecting the Operation type filter, and choosing Menu publish. Expand the operation to find the reason for the failure. Our support team is available if you need assistance. Publish the menu again after resolving the reason for the error.

Why is my menu showing up incorrectly on my channel?

You may need to republish your menu to your channels to ensure your latest changes have been exported. If the issue persists, view the publish history to identify any failed publishes or errors by going to the Operation reports page and filtering on Operation type is Menu publish.


Menu scheduling

How can I view an overview of existing menu schedules?

Select Menus in the sidebar followed by Scheduling. The Overview tab shows the existing menu schedules. You can filter on location, menu, and date. Use the toggles at the bottom of the page to show or hide channels and scheduling calendars.

How can I change when a menu is available on a delivery channel?

If you need to adjust when a menu is available, select Menus in the sidebar followed by Scheduling. Select the Menu scheduling tab at the top. To add a new schedule, select the + Add schedule button. Existing schedules can be changed by selecting the pencil icon. When creating or editing a schedule, you can specify the menu, location, channels, channel links, days, times, and start/end date. How can I add a holiday or close my location for a period of time?

Select Menus in the sidebar followed by Scheduling. Select the Holidays tab at the top of the page. Choose the + Add Holiday button. Select the location and specify when it starts and ends. Multiple holidays can be added by selecting the + Add holiday button. Once finished, select the Save button. You can also edit or delete holidays on this page. Learn more.


Menu optimization

How can I optimize a menu?

You can make changes to menus to see if they can be improved for one or multiple locations or channels. To do so, follow the steps in this article.

How can I see the status of an optimization?

Select Menus in the sidebar followed by Optimization.

How can I delete or deactivate an optimization?

You can delete or deactivate an existing optimization by selecting Menus and then Optimization in the sidebar. Select the button and choose Deactivate optimization or Delete optimization. Learn more.

Are menu optimizations permanent?

Menu optimizations are not permanent while being tested and can be deactivated at any time. To make a menu optimization permanent after its end date, select the button and choose Implement optimization.
