Create or Import a Menu

In this article, learn how to create a menu from scratch or import one from a delivery channel.

Getting started

Step 1. Navigate to the Menus page in the sidebar.


Step 2. Select the Create menu button.


Step 3. You have four options to choose from:

  • Create menu: Start building a new menu without importing data. Follow the instructions directly below.

  • Create menu group: This allows you to organize your menu page by grouping related menus.

  • Import from channel: Use an existing delivery channel to recreate an existing menu. Follow the instructions under the Import from channel heading.

  • Import from POS: Use your point of sale to create a menu using existing categories. Follow the instructions under the Import from POS heading.

Step 4. Complete the following fields:

  • Menu name: This name will be shown to customers on your channels.

  • Internal menu name (optional): By adding a name, you can easily distinguish this menu. This name won't be shown outside of Deliverect.

  • Menu description (optional): Provide additional information about this menu.

  • Type: How customers will receive their orders (delivery, pickup, etc).

  • Use products from: Choose which location to use.

  • Menu edit restrictions (optional): Select the locations where this menu will be used. Only employees/managers at selected locations will be given menu edit access.

  • Banner image (optional): Upload an image to display on your menu.

  • Logo image (optional): Upload an image with a 1:1 aspect ratio.

Select the Create button once ready.


Step 5. Now is the time to add categories to your menu. Select the Create category button.


Step 6. Enter a name for this category and optionally a description and image.


Step 7. Add items to a category by selecting the Add item button. If you do not yet have any products in Deliverect, view this article on how to sync products from your POS.


Step 8. Choose the products you would like to add to your menu. You can select multiple at once and search for products. Select the Add products button once ready.


Step 9. You can re-arrange your products by selecting and dragging them.

Import from channel

Step 4. If you have a compatible channel connected to your Deliverect account, you will be able to choose it in the Import Menu From dropdown. For the Link Products To Location dropdown, choose the location that Deliverect should use to attempt to link products. Select the Import Menu button for it to be recreated in Deliverect.

Step 4. Choose the location to use.


Step 5. Select the categories to import.

At the top of the page, you can translate your menu, preview it, export it, and reset the products. View this article to learn how to publish your menu.
