DoorDash: Settings
Updated over 4 months ago

You can adjust the settings of a DoorDash channel.

Editing channel settings is only possible with the user role Edit store settings. If your user role does not include this, contact an Administrator user in your account and ask them to provide you access. Learn how to change user roles.

Follow the steps in this article to access the settings page of your DoorDash channel.

The following settings are available inside the DoorDash channel settings section.

Menu

Publish calories

Activate to publish the calorie information set in the Product specifications of your items. Calorie values are displayed under your item names in DoorDash.

Display kilojoules

Activate to append item names with the kilojoule equivalent of the calorie amount configured in the product's specifications.

Publish tax rates

Activate to publish your item tax rates to DoorDash when publishing your menu. When inactive, the tax rate charged to customers is calculated using DoorDash's own rules.

DoorDash will ignore any tax rate published to them if your store is located in a region where DoorDash is the marketplace facilitator (MPF). If you’re unsure whether you’re located in an MPF region, contact your DoorDash representative.

Refresh snoozed items with menu publish

To resend all snoozed items to DoorDash with every menu publish, enable the “Refresh snoozed items with menu publish” setting. This ensures that all your item stock levels are aligned.

Resize images

Activate to allow Deliverect to resize item images that do not fit within DoorDash’s image dimensions by adding a white background.

If you leave this setting inactive, ensure your menu images follow DoorDash’s image guidelines.

Order

Fixed cost %

Input your DoorDash fixed cost % so that your Deliverect analytics account for these amounts. This information is not sent to your POS, and is used solely for order total calculations in Deliverect Restaurants’ analytics.

Use store item names

Activate this setting to display the item names visible on DoorDash (if they have been manually modified on your Deliverect menu) on the Orders page and the DMA screen and printouts (if you use the DMA).

The default behavior is to display the item’s names as they sync from your POS.

This behavior is only applicable for Deliverect Restaurants and DMA. If you use a POS, your POS will use its item names.

Combine partner and merchant discounts

Activate to view and process discounts funded by both you and DoorDash.

DoorDash orders advise whether the order’s discount is funded by DoorDash or yourself. Activating this setting combines DoorDash and merchant-funded discount amounts in your orders' "Discount Total", which is sent to your POS. When inactive, only merchant-funded discounts are displayed.

Order payment

Display delivery fee

Activate to display any delivery fee amount sent by DoorDash, and include it in the order’s total. This can be sent to your POS when the Send delivery fee POS setting is active.

When inactive, all delivery amounts are excluded from the order’s total.

Use DoorDash tax amount

Activate to use the tax amount sent by DoorDash instead of the tax amount calculated by using the tax rate set on synced products

By default, DoorDash rounds tax up to the nearest cent whereas your POS may round down, causing an inconsistency. Deactivating the setting will use the tax rates synced from your POS and visible in Deliverect’s products, ensuring the tax amount sent to your POS is the same as what your POS calculates.

Deactivating the setting may cause a variance between the actual tax amount charged by DoorDash, and the amount reported by your POS.

Round tax per item

Activate this setting to prevent tax amount discrepancies by rounding tax amounts to the nearest cent per item instead of at the order level.

Ensure the “Use DoorDash tax amount” setting is inactive if you activate this setting, as the behavior relies on the internal tax calculations of items.

Order behaviour

Use updated preparation time

Activate this setting to update the estimated order time shown to the customer after placing their order and to the DoorDash rider who collects it. Set the time in the Average preparation time POS setting.

Estimated time updates are displayed when viewing the order's Channel Status History.

When inactive, the estimated time is controlled via your DoorDash backoffice.
