Create a Modifier or Modifier Group
Updated over a week ago

Modifiers and modifier groups allow you to add additional information or options to your products. They are commonly referred to as "options" or "extras" on other platforms.

Once created, they can be attached to products in your account.

This article is only relevant if you do not have a POS integration. If you do have a POS, you can instead sync your products, modifiers, and modifier groups.

Modifiers

A modifier is an item that customers can choose for a product, that exists inside a modifier group. For a pizza, some modifiers could be cheese, pepperoni, and pineapple.

Modifier Groups

A modifier group brings together modifiers you want to add to a product. For example, if you have a pizza product, a modifier group could be "Choose your Toppings".

Example

Take a look at the example below and how they are displayed in Deliverect.

  • Product: Fries

    • Modifier group: Sauce

      • Modifiers: Ketchup, Mayonnaise

How to create

Step 1. Navigate first to your Products page in Deliverect.

Step 2. Select the + Create button.

Step 3. Choose the Modifier or Modifier Group option, each explained below:

Modifier

Enter information into the fields to create your modifier. Fields marked with an * are required.

General

  • Name*: Enter the name of the modifier (e.g. Ketchup).

  • PLU*: Created automatically after saving, but you can enter something specific if required.

  • Description: Provide some additional information about your modifier (e.g. A generous porting of yummy ketchup).

Pricing

  • Base Price*: The standard price for the modifier.

  • Bottle deposit price: If applicable (for beverages and depending on state/country), enter the required price for recycling/deposit.

  • Delivery Tax*: The tax for the modifier when being delivered.

Select the Create button at the bottom to save it.

It is now possible to add more information and include additional modifiers/upsells to the modifier.

- Change the status of the modifier. Setting this to inactive will remove your modifier from sale.

- Add product specifications to the modifier. These include tags, allergens, nutritional values, and more. View this article for all possibilities.

- Check if this modifier is not a physical item. This is useful if the item does not need to be counted when individually packed (only relevant for the Delivery Manager App and not available to all customers). Contact our support team for more details.

- Add existing modifier groups or create one.

- Add existing upsell groups or create one.

- Select the ⋯ button for a product to make changes to the product, customize it, activate auto-apply (for free products), copy the PLU, or remove it from the upsell group. Also, additional modifiers can be added or created using the buttons at the bottom.

Don't forget to publish your menu to your channels every time you make changes to products in Deliverect.
