Use Busy Mode to Temporarily Delay Orders or Close a Location

Updated this week

If you can't keep up with orders, temporarily delay orders to your kitchen or close your location. This functionality is called Busy Mode.

There are two types:

  • Busy mode (orange button): This allows you to increase the preparation (prep) time for new orders. Perfect if you just need a bit of extra time or if the kitchen is overloaded.

  • Close stores (red button): This allows you to close your location and prevent any new orders from being created.

Not all delivery channels support busy mode.

How to activate

Step 1. Go to your Locations page.

Step 2. Expand the location and select the Busy mode button.

Step 3. At the top of the window, there are buttons to simultaneously open and close all stores. Each channel link has its own Close store button, and if supported, a Busy mode button.

Is one of your channels not present on the list? That means it does not currently support this feature in Deliverect. You may instead be able to close your store on that platform's website.

Selecting the Busy mode button shows a new window where you can set the extra preparation time. Select Confirm once a time is chosen. By selecting the Off button, you can remove any added preparation time previously set.

Re-open stores or disable busy mode

Navigate back to this window to open your stores or remove the added preparation time.

You must manually reopen the store after busy mode is activated as it will not automatically reset or be reopened at the start of the next business day. This also applies if you manually close the store using busy mode.

The store will also not automatically reopen during opening hours. You must manually use busy mode to reopen the store.

FAQs

Why might Busy Mode not stop orders from certain platforms?

Busy Mode in Deliverect stops most orders, but some delivery channels may not support this functionality natively. For these platforms, you must manually close the store on their respective portals to prevent receiving orders.

What should I do if my location is set to Busy Mode and orders are not coming through?

If your location is in Busy Mode and not receiving orders, you should deactivate Busy Mode to restore normal functionality. Once Busy Mode is off, your store will resume accepting orders from all connected platforms.

How to close a store permanently?

If you are permanently closing a store or wish to permanently stop using a delivery channel:

  • You must contact both Deliverect Support and your delivery channel or online ordering provider.

  • This ensures that your account is fully and permanently disabled across all relevant platforms.

  • Read this article for more information on how to unlink a channel
