Create and Manage Automations

Automations let you manage the availability of items or categories at defined times for specific locations, location groups, and channels.

Example uses

  • Prevent the sale of alcohol after a specific time to comply with local laws.

  • Only sell breakfast items before 11 am.

  • Have a simplified item selection at night.

Create an automation

Step 1. In the sidebar, select Catalog and then Automations .


Step 2. Select the Create button.


Step 3. In the Visibility & items section, select the + Add rule button. You can choose from the following options:

  • Deactivate items: Make items unavailable to order.

  • Activate items: Make items available to order. This does not override stock statuses.


Step 4. Select the Add item rules + button to choose one of the following:

  • Items

  • Item tags

  • Category

You can add additional rules if necessary.


Step 5. In the Frequency section, select the Add frequency button and then Frequency.


Step 6. Set the days of the week and times that the automation will be active. You can select the + Add frequency button to configure additional time slots.


Step 7. In the Stores section, select the + Add rule button. Choose from the following:

  • Location

  • Location group

  • Channel


Step 8. Select the Save button to finish creating your automation. Your automation will become active at the specified frequency.

Manage an automation

You can make changes to an existing automation.

Step 1. In the sidebar, select Catalog and then Automations .


Step 2. Select for the automation. The following actions are available:

  • Edit

  • Enable/Disable

  • Delete

Edit

Make your desired changes to the automation and select the Save button.

Enable or disable automation

Depending on the automation's current status, select the Enable automation or Disable automation button.

This may result in an inventory publish if the automation becomes active based on its schedule.

Delete

Select the Delete automation button. The items included in the automation rules will revert to their original inventory and catalog settings.
